Hajime Sorayama (born 1947) is a contemporary Japanese artist recognized for his erotic illustrations executed in a precisely detailed manner. He trained at the Chuo Art School in Tokyo before entering the commercial advertising field and later becoming a freelance illustrator. He has published several books, including "Sexy Robot," 1983, "Pin-up," 1984, "Master Works, 2010," and "Vibrant Vixens," 2013; his work has also been featured in "Penthouse" magazine and on "Playboy TV," among numerous other forms of media. In addition, the artist's design for the Sony AIBO robot received the Japanese Grand Prize of Best Design award and is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C.

Hajime Sorayama (空山 基, Sorayama Hajime, born February 22, 1947) is a Japanese[1] illustrator known, along for his design work on the original Sony AIBO, for his precisely detailed, erotic portrayals of feminine robots. He describes his highly detailed style as "superrealism", which he says "deals with the technical issue of how close one can get to one's object."[1] Modern English-language editions of Sorayama's art books give his name as Hajime Sorayama, using conventional Western order, with given name followed by surname. Some older publications give his name as Sorayama Hajime, using native Japanese name order, which puts the family name first.
